One day, Chris decided to cut a hole in the side of the house. This was an extreme effort designed to relieve the strange sounds the house was making... Meowing sounds.

The arctic entrance is not easy to push, and it smushes up cats' whiskers... But it seems to let in some tempting fresh air when it's pushed open. Hmmm...

Within the first day, the boys learn that they have a new open-air lounge to explore, but they haven't quite worked out the door yet. They meow to be let back in.

Sonya takes a picture and Chris watches as the cats do what comes naturally: Chew grass and wish they could go even farther outside.

Max got up here by jumping about four feet up from his box, then jumped back down. Took him a while longer to figure out the ramp.
